Tell us a bit about yourself and what you’re up to now 

I have a strong sales background, beginning with a four year stint in car sales. This was followed by two years in sales recruitment before I ventured into tech sales, where I'm currently nearing my first year mark.

Outside work, I'm a very sociable individual. I enjoy regular meals out with friends and have a 3 year old daughter who I love to do fun activities with. Currently, I'm part of Ultimate AI as an SDR.

What was your journey into a career in Tech Sales?

I spent 2 years in sales recruitment, primarily placing AE's and SDR's in tech companies. That experience opened my eyes to the earning potential and lucrative salaries in the industry, sparking my interest in pursuing a sales role.

What would you say are the best things about working in Tech Sales?

Sales isn't just about teaching a product; it's about the innate ability to connect with people effortlessly. While learning a product is possible for anyone, building rapport is a natural gift.

Earning potential is undeniably a driving force in sales. It's a challenging field, often stressful, but the financial rewards are motivating. For me, career growth is paramount, especially in tech sales. The right company fosters that development.

What advice would you give to someone who is just about to start their career in sales?

Conduct thorough research and pursue your passion within a specific sector. It's a challenging journey, but persistence pays off—things align with time.

Why did you decide to join Tangent as a Mentor and why should others join as Mentors too?

My mentor in sales recruitment played a pivotal role in shaping my current position. Always open to helping others, though managing a team isn't my forte—I aim to excel as a top earner. Remote work limits exposure; I thrived in a bustling office environment, picking up valuable sales skills by listening to others sell.
