Our founders Gary and Joe both come from low-income/social housing backgrounds, and it was tough. They didn’t have networks like their privileged peers did to navigate starting their careers, and despite getting good grades they struggled to land jobs out of university. 

Through hard work (and definitely luck!) they went on to work at amazing companies such as LinkedIn and BT, but realised along the way the importance of professional connections. They discovered employee referrals are the golden ticket to getting hired — you’re 9 times more likely to land that dream job if you’re referred by an insider.
