Tell us a bit about yourself and what you’re up to now

I’m a Senior Commercial Account Executive at Reachdesk and have been for 2 years. I really enjoy it and hope to keep going up the ranks to Enterprise AE!

What was your journey into a career in tech sales?

I started my journey in recruitment sales as a BDR and fell in love with sales. During the pandemic I realised tech sales was an exciting place to be and joined as one of the first female hires in a fast growing startup.

Fast forward three years, after two BDR promotions and a move to closing, I’m now a Senior Commercial AE and absolutely love it.

What would you say are the best things about working in Tech Sales?

It’s exciting. No two conversations are the same, you can build close relationships with someone across the globe, the tension is such a motivator when you’re close to target. No better feeling than when you’ve achieved it. I live for the rush!

What advice would you give to someone who is just about to start their career in sales?

Say yes. There’s going to be times where someone offers you an opportunity to prove yourself and it’s going to feel super daunting. Prospecting F2F at an event, doing that ‘massive call’ you’re nervous about, public speaking. Say yes & that’s when the real winning happens. Be comfortable being uncomfortable and then you’ll really progress.

Why did you decide to join Tangent as a Mentor and why should others join as Mentors too?

I had some amazing support when I started my journey that I attribute much of my confidence and success to. I’ve started being a buddy to new BDR’s and AE’s internally, and would love to be able to give back even more, as well as learning from new joiners in the sales world!

Why others should join:

This is a great opportunity to give back and help others get to where you are and where they hope to be. I want to give the same support to new joiners as I received when I joined the world of sales!
