My title is Senior Customer Success Manager but working at a small AI start-up, my responsibilities include pre-sales, onboarding, marketing, data analysis, answering the phone and whatever else it takes to make the company grow. I have a 10-year professional career spanning sales, product management, and customer success.
What was your journey into a career in Tech Sales
Not sure what the character limit of this text box is but... a combination of luck, hard work, near constant learning with regular failure, being a passenger and driver in my career decisions.
A willingness to learn and be interested.
What would you say are the best things about working in Tech Sales
Understanding the problem to solve, the art of the possible and being empathetic to a prospect/client p.o.v but holding true to what I need too.
What advice would you give to someone who is just about to start their career in sales
I am Customer Success, not directly sales, so I'll speak to CS specifically.
You need a combination of product and problem knowledge with empathy, qualified confidence and very strong interpersonal skills.
