Tell us a bit about yourself and what you're up to now
I work in Customer Success and have 12 years of experience in the sports data & tech space.
Outside of work, unsurprisingly I’ve got a big passion for a variety of sports, as well as a very curious toddler who definitely keeps me on my toes!
What was your journey into a career in Customer Success
I started out working in professional football as an intern while studying Sport & Exercise Sciences. I gained experience in Strength & Conditioning and Performance Analysis roles at various Premier League and EFL clubs. For a long time, I thought this would be my career path, but as opportunities evolved, I chose to move into Sports Technology — and I haven’t looked back since. It’s allowed me to combine my passion for sport with my interest in technology, and build a career that’s both dynamic and rewarding.
What would you say are the best things about working in Customer Success
One of the best things about working in tech is how fast-paced and innovative it is — there’s always something new to explore. I’ve had a genuine passion for technology from a young age, whether it was keeping up with the latest consoles or more recently being an early adopter of AI. In Customer Success, that curiosity really helps — you're constantly learning, adapting, and helping customers get the most out of evolving products. It keeps the work fresh, and you get to be the bridge between cutting-edge technology and real-world value.
What advice would you give to someone who is just about to start their career in sales
Be persistent, stay open to opportunities, and be ready to adapt. If you’d asked me 10 years ago, I wouldn’t have imagined myself in a Customer Success role — but I found my way here by taking risks and stepping outside my comfort zone. Sometimes the best paths are the ones you didn’t plan for, so be curious, say yes to new challenges, and trust that it’ll all add up. I genuinely love what I do now, and that came from being open to the journey.
Why did you decide to join Tangent as a Mentor and why should others join as Mentors too
I’ve always loved supporting and managing people, and while I’m not doing that in my current role, mentoring through Tangent is a great way to keep that fire burning. It also gives me the chance to give back and support those breaking into Customer Success, especially from underrepresented backgrounds. It’s a really rewarding way to stay connected to leadership, share what I’ve learned, and help others grow with confidence.
