Tell us a bit about yourself and what you're up to now

I’m Nadine, a Dublin-based Account Executive working in the digital marketing space, currently with a SaaS company,  SocioLocal. We help franchise and multi-location brands scale their local social media presence.
Before moving into tech sales and marketing, I ran my own business for eight years in property management, ran a restaurant, and later managed both a b2b grocery retail operations and a fine dining restaurant. Those hands-on experiences gave me a deep understanding of what it takes to drive growth from the ground up.

Outside of work, I’m raising two teenage boys, training for the Dublin Marathon, and exploring the intersection of AI, search, and local social media marketing. I’m also passionate about mentoring, especially helping others move  into new roles with confidence.

What was your journey into a career in Tech Sales

Before moving into tech sales i was working in B2B sales  in grocery vertical. An opportunity to move into software sales came up, but it was not until 6 months later, that i embraced it. Remote working scared me a bit.

What would you say are the best things about working in Tech Sales

The best thing about working in tech is the pace — there’s constant learning, clear career progression, and space to grow fast if you’re willing to show up consistently. Coming from retail and hospitality, I found my communication, resilience, and commercial mindset all transferred well. Working in tech sales has helped me think more strategically, and long term, I’d love to move into a leadership role where I can help others make the same leap.

What advice would you give to someone who is just about to start their career in sales

Learn fast, stay consistent, and don’t take rejection personally. Early in sales, it’s easy to tie your self-worth to results, but the reps who win are the ones who show up every day, stay curious, and keep improving. Focus on the process, not just the outcome, and you’ll build skills that will open doors for the rest of your career.

Why did you decide to join Tangent as a Mentor and why should others join as Mentors too

I joined Tangent as a mentor because I know how hard it can be to break into a new industry,  and I wanted to give back by supporting others through that transition. It’s also helped me grow by learning how to coach, guide, and challenge people in a meaningful way. I’d recommend it to anyone who wants to make a real impact, develop their leadership skills, and build genuine connections beyond their day job.
