Previously in recruitment for 6 years and now working for Reward Gateway, supporting HR teams and business leaders enhance employee engagement through our offering and software.
What was your journey into a career in Tech Sales
Previously in recruitment for 6 years, operating at different levels but worked my way up to Director. Left the business in Dec 2024 and joined Reward Gateway as a SDR, I wanted to enter the SaaS space so understood I needed to start from basics and work my way up - promoted to AE after 5 months and achieving my FY25 target as a SDR by August (joined the business in March)
What would you say are the best things about working in Tech Sales
Definitely transferable skills - really passionate about people being given an opportunity as this was something I had to really lean on when trying to secure interviews. Career progression and achieving your true potential are 2 things in particular which I really like about the tech space, as well as the earning potential (of course!)
What advice would you give to someone who is just about to start their career in sales
Take time when job searching, donβt rush, do your own research, break through the noise and work hard. Consistency is always key
Why did you decide to join Tangent as a Mentor and why should others join as Mentors too
It was important for me to try and help others. At one point, it was quite overwhelming being rejected from quite a few roles back to back (due to previous experience and no uni degree) but consistency, resilience helped me and I want to give this back to people who have high standards for themselves and where they want to get to.
