What was your journey into a career in Tech Sales
Fell into it. Started in tech sales to try to save up money to fund a Masters degree, but after completing the course I knew I wanted to get back into sales because I loved it and thrived. Loved the social aspect, the problem solving and the competitiveness.
What would you say are the best things about working in Tech Sales
Earning potential allows you to live how you want to. That doesn't have to be buying expensive houses, cars and watches - it can be seeing the world, it can be retiring early, it can be just being completely financially secure living a modest lifestyle.
But I enjoy the job itself, too. This industry is the most fun and the best culture you can get for the money we make. (compared to finance & law etc.)
What advice would you give to someone who is just about to start their career in sales
Leap for it, be confident, use your initiative to stand out and ALWAYS tailor your message to your target.
Why did you decide to join Tangent as a Mentor and why should others join as Mentors too
Love helping people, think there is an inequality which should be addressed in low socioeconomic representation.
